We drove all day to get from Merzouga to Ouarzazate. The morning we retraced our steps back through Arfoud and stopped at our hotel to use the rest rooms. Meli had left had glasses there and they had them! Success.
Meli had me sit in the front seat (vacated by the tour guide) so I could get good pictures since today's journal was my responsibility. She was anticipating seeing women in their traditional costumes, which changed as we travelled west. The black robes are Arab; the embroidered ones are Berber; the colorful ones are Bedouin...
As we passed through one of the towns, the children were apparently giving home for lunch. There were hundreds of bicycles crowding the road. Many of the young people held hands across their bikes (boys as well as girls)...
We had lunch in a gorge that is famous for rock climbing.
Finally, we caught a glimpse of village women doing their laundry in a clear stream. Although I was far away on the road, they saw me shooting pictures and made it clear they were not happy being photographed.
