DAY 1 -ISTANBUL
The tour starts at 8:30 AM at the lobby of the Hotel Ayasofya in Istanbul 
Visit Cistern, Turkish Islamic Art Museum, St. Sophia, Topkapi Palace, Covered Bazaar 
Dinner at Rami Resturant 
Overnight at Hotel Ayasofya, Istanbul

DAY 2 - ISTANBUL
Visit the Blue Mosque, Chora Church, private cruise on the Bosphorus, Sadberk Hanim Museum
Dinner at a fish resturant in the fascinating Kumkapi section of Istanbul
Overnight at Hotel Ayasofya in Instanbul

DAY 3 -BURSA
Take ferry to Yalova, 
Drive to Bursa, the capital of silk production in Turkey. 
Visit Iznik which was the tile production center of the Ottoman's. 
Sightseeing in Bursa 
Dinner and overnight at Adapalas Hotel, Bursa

DAY 4 -KUTAHYA
Covered bazaar for silk in Bursa 
Drive to Kutahya where we visit the famous tile center of Turkey
Overnight at Kutahya

DAY 5 - ANKARA
Drive to Ankara from Kutahya. On the way visit felt makers in Afyon 
Dinner and overnight at Ankara Ickale Hotel

DAY 6 - Capadocia
Visit Anatolian Civilizations Museum in Ankara.
Drive to Cappadocia
Overnight at Museum Hotel

DAY 7 - Capadocia
We'll spend a short time sightseeing in Cappadocia 
Drive to Kayseri to visit one of the largest carpet co-operative establishments to see dyes, carpet washing, design making and many more processes required before and after carpet weaving.
Visit carpet makers in their homes.
Return to Cappadocia and see/buy the finished products (carpets) of this co-operative.
Overnight at Museum Hotel

DAY 8 - Capadocia
Visit Goreme rock churches. 
After lunch visit local homes to see the dowery hope chests full of finished items of hand work such as laces, towel edges, tablecovers, bedspreads, socks and mittens (knitted and embroaidered)
Watch a presentation of tranditional pottery making in Avanos
Visit spinners, old kilim shopping opportunity
Overnight at Museum Hotel

DAY 9 - Konya
Visit an underground city. 
Drive to the town which is in the shade of two volcanoes. 
Visit a caravansari on the ancient silk road. 
At night "Ut" recital and a chance to enjoy a private embroidery collection of 150-200 year old items. More carpets.
Overnight at Sifa Hotel in Konya

DAY 10 - Pamukkale
Visit the Mevlana Museum and Mosque
Drive over the rolling hills and mountains to Denizli
Dinner and overnight in Yourk Hotel, Pamukkale

DAY 11 - Kusadasi
Visit the local workshops of pottery makers in Denizli which is unique of its kind in this region 
Drive to Aphrodisias, one of the most complete ancient sites in Turkey.
On the way to Kusadasi, visit the pottery making village of Karacasu.
Overnight at Barbados Hotel in Kusadasi

DAY 12 - Kusadasi
Visit Ephesus, one of the best preserved ancient cities in the world.

Arrival Suggestions:
     VISA
US citizens need a visa to travel in Turkey. You may obtain this visa upon your arrival at the Istanbul airport. The fee is $ 20 in US currency for the USA citizens. The visa is valid for three months.
When you come out of your plane please proceed to the Visa  Booth. They only accept cash.
    POLICE CHECK AND LUGGAGE /
    MEETING MELITOUR REPRESENTATIVE FOR TRANSFER
After paying for your visa please proceed to police control. Baggage claim is immediately down the ramp after the police check. If you need a cart, you will need to pay one US dollar cash to a person who stands by the carts. It will be nice if you have a change. The Melitour representative for transfer to the hotel will meet you out side the custom area. Look for a MELITOUR sign as soon as you leave the customs gate.

  EMERGENCY INFO FOR TRANSFER
In case of unexpected delay or change of your  flight, should there be a problem in meeting the person who should be waiting for you at the airport please call Hotel Ayasofya at 0212-51694-46 or take a taxi to Hotel Ayasofya. Your taxi fare will be refunded.
